About

You can call me Marsh or Marshall. I was born in Hoboken, raised in Nashville, and live just north of Boston. I'm married to (the amazing) Alejandra and parent of Meadow (human) and Daxter (pup).

Low tide at Nahant Beach. Me throwing a ball up into the air and Dax bracing to chase.

I started and now run a climate and conservation company, {Upstream Tech} (see {Work and Pursuits of Toil} for a ... complete history). I love programming languages and design challenges. I'm also good at building high-performing teams, building a viable business, and (I'm told) management. I currently do a lot of the latter (the company leadership thing) and not as much of the former (programming languages - argh!).

I run and climb. Make {music}, {garden}, and play games with my childhood friends (my BG3 character is a bard named Goose Goose, if you were wondering, and she's awesome).

I like turning everyday things into an adventure, like a commute to work with {Early Werms} or {walking up a river}. I try to run a slow, unplanned, solo marathon once a year. I once reviewed milk on {Milk Advocate} with my friend Quinault (and then became almost vegan, now undone because of baby!).
